2010 CSA Program
The number of CSA's Beans & Greens will offer is limited. Download your sign-up form and get it into the mail to be part of the program for the summer!
What is CSA: CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture, is a relatively new concept whereby customers support their local farmer by purchasing shares of produce at the start of the summer growing season. This helps cover the cost of the farmer’s spring planting expenses.
What is the Beans & Greens CSA program? As a thank you for becoming a Beans & Greens CSA member, you will receive a FREE 20% bonus in purchasing power usable when buying vegetables grown on our farm. This produce is picked fresh daily – your healthiest and most nutritious option for locally grown food!
How does it work?
- You may buy a CSA membership card for any amount starting at $250. We will put the amount you paid PLUS your 20% bonus onto your CSA card. (So, for example, if you buy a CSA membership for $250, you will receive a CSA card worth $300 to spend at the farm.)
- Come to the farm and select the Beans & Greens vegetables that you would like to purchase. Vegetables grown on our farm and available that day will be part of the CSA purchasing program.
- Pay with your CSA debit card at the register.
How will I know which vegetables are part of the program? There will be a list posted just outside the entrance to the farm listing all vegetables that are part of the program each day. Vegetables grown on the farm are also indicated by specific price signs and will be listed on the website as well.
Why should I purchase a CSA membership card? Buying a CSA membership card will give you a 20% discount off your fresh, locally produced vegetables all season long! You will also be showing your local farmer your support by helping him financially during the spring planting season.
BONUS: Get a friend to sign up for the CSA program and you will get a $25 gift card for use on anything at Beans & Greens as your reward!
How do I get my card? Contact us by email at beansandgreensfarm@msn.com for sign-up directions and to make arrangements to get your card
By when do I have to join? The sign-up deadline will be JUNE 1, 2010.
Is there anything else I can purchase with my CSA membership besides vegetables grown on the farm? Besides the usual vegetables we grow, you can use your card towards the purchase of any of the following items that we grow on the farm when they are available: Strawberries, Pumpkins, Winter squashes, Firewood, “cut your own” flowers & “cut your own” herbs!
Can any balance on the CSA card be carried over into the next summer? No, the CSA card is good for one season only, so make sure you finish it up by the end of October!
